Big Planets ~ Big Trends
Far out in our solar system are Uranus, Neptune and Pluto and it’s the movements of these planets that bring about the big global trends. To make sense of these astrologers look at the signs they’re moving through, and how they’re interacting with one another. Are they getting along now or not? And how might that impact us here on earth as individuals, or collectively? The last few years have been full of planetary drama, as so:
Reality Meets Unreality ~ Saturn square Neptune
November 2015 through October 2016
The confusion and chaos continues. In it’s essence this influence serves to exaggerate the distances between our dreams and our earthly, day to day, reality, as the tangible clashes with the intangible, or our ideals with the limitations of the material world. It’s kind of like exaggerating the difference between heaven and earth with neither really delivering on its promise. This is a global influence but individuals may also be struggling with similar themes in their own lives, the desire to achieve a dream versus the boring mundanity of their everyday responsibilities and reality.
In practical terms it’s a year where those things that are supposed to provide us with security and structure; jobs, parents, bosses, politicians and other authority figures are shown to be not as reliable as we thought we were. The same applies to institutions on a more macro level; legal systems, governments, the economy are not really delivering and are in some cases even crumbling. We are not only dealing with the aftermath of the Uranus square Pluto period of polarisation of 2011-2016 (mentioned below) but on top of that everything that’s been stirred up is being tested rather than settling down. The conflicts between governments and religious extremists is part of this, as are things like Brexit and issues with currencies and the economy worldwide. Also highlighted is our seeming inability to take care of everyone on the planet in practical terms ~ food, water, jobs, shelter ~ in a way that is sustainable. What should our hopes for the planet really be? What really feeds us and gives us satisfaction on a deeper level? There is a global reality check going on, even though what’s “real” seems weirder than ever. Funny old year…
It’s a Jungle Out There ~ Uranus square Pluto
2011 through early 2016 (ish)
This challenging planetary interaction between Uranus and Pluto is one of the biggest influences possible, and this time it’s lasted much longer than usual, even though it comes about every 50 years in some form.
According to the planets this period will be a time of reform, chaos and global unrest, as a powerful force for change (people) challenge the status quo and structures previously relied on for support.
Unexpected events exposed strong divisions between the establishment, or the established ways of doing things, and those that wanted change NOW. It was about tearing down what no longer works and replacing it with something else, which seems to be, so far, simply an idea or a vision. It was a time of mixing things up so the future can come together in ways we don’t expect.
In 2011 when I began writing about it everything was looking pretty tumultuous. The world was also supposed to end in 2012, though that date got moved. And now that the worst of it is over, it’s hard to deny that much has changed in a very short time, though not much seems to be settled or resolved. It’s like everything and everyone is still on the way to becoming something else but what? That is not very obvious yet. Read about it here…
